Virtual Private Classes (Available via Skype or Zoom)
About the Instructor Tika Moini began dancing Ballet at the age of 6 at Ballet Pacifica Academy in Irvine, CA. She later grew to incorporate Jazz, Lyrical, Yoga, Pilates, Hula-Hoop and Fire props into her practice. In 2014, she began performing and choreographing pieces for concerts, festivals, music videos, and private events throughout California and Nevada. Her teaching style focuses on developing proper form, strength, agility, and individual style, while introducing students to the art of dance and hoop.
Since all classes are currently in a private, virtual format, they can be tailored to focus on your strengths and weaknesses and be modified to incorporate specific skills you are trying to work on. Students can also mix and matchclasses and work with Tika to develop a personal lesson plan that incorporates any of the following: barre, dance, hoop, fitness, flexibility, choreography.
Intro to Ballet (Barre)
Ballet skill and strength always starts at the barre. This virtual format will start with basic Ballet barre exercises and focus on developing correct form, strength, and knowledge of Ballet. We will focus on muscles activation, lines, and terminology. We we will also move into some stretching exercises to develop flexibility and off the barre exercises, if space allows.
If you do not have a barre, you can use a chair, countertop, or other balancing surface.
Hula-Hoop (All Levels)
Hula-Hooping is an amazing full body workout, and this class can be tailored to all levels. There is the option to focus on fitness or dance in these classes and the option to combine these formats is also welcome!
Hula-Hoop Fitness We will use the hula-hoop in a full body workout, while targeting our core and burning calories in this fun and energetic aerobic workout. A very easy to follow format, this class uses the hula-hoop to get your cardio in at home.
Hula-Hoop Dance: This class will start with a dance based warm-up, using the hoop, and then move into learning different tricks and hoop skills based on your level. This class will focus on each students personal ability and goals to develop a personal style and routines. We will learn about how to integrate dance and hula-hoop moves, and how to connect with your hoop to develop “flow”. Class will end with a cool down and light stretching. For Advanced Hoopers Option to focus on learning more dance based moves, improving flexibility, connecting movements, and develop a routine to music. Get choreography training and performance tips.
